Request a Training

School’s Out Washington offers training that can be tailored to the specific needs of youth development programs based on our capacity.
Training requests can be made for existing trainings led by SOWA or for customized trainings (depending on training subject and availability). Training requests must be submitted at least four (4) weeks before the preferred date of the training.
To request a training, complete the form below or email us directly at training@schoolsoutwashington.org.
About our trainings
SOWA trainings can take the form of one-on-one coaching, consulting, or delivering a workshop at a program site so all staff can gain skills together. Staff members learn how to support each other and improve their work practices with young people, families, and communities.
Requesting a training is a cost-effective way to ensure that all program staff have the same knowledge base about critical issues and best practices. Organizations with multiple locations find this approach particularly helpful for improving quality across locations.
Our trainers can:
- Provide assessments and recommendations for programs
- Assist with program start-up
- Provide workshops on a wide range of topics
- Provide the state-required School-Age Initial Training Requirement to new staff
For those working with children ages 5-12 in licensed programs, SOWA can assist with the STARS record process or provide a STARS approved trainer. Licensed providers may use STARS scholarships to pay for any training we offer.
