2026 Lights On Afterschool

Lights On Afterschool is the only nationwide event celebrating afterschool programs and their important role in the lives of youth, families, and communities. The effort, led by Afterschool Alliance, has become a hallmark in the youth development sector, engaging over 1 million community members at 8,000+ events across the country.

Event Sponsorships

School’s Out Washington is offering $300-$500* stipends for Lights On Afterschool events in Washington. Complete this form by Thursday, September 24 at 5:00 PM PST to apply.

Applicants will be notified by October 2 and will receive payment by October 9.

Please note: A W9 is required to process payments from SOWA to your organization. Please send your W9 to lcharbonneau@schoolsoutwashington.org after applying.

Requirements if funded:

• Invite your legislators and/or local elected officials to the event
• Send SOWA a brief recap of the event and a few photos and/or videos
• Register your event on the Lights On Afterschool website: https://loa.afterschoolalliance.org/accounts/signup/

*The number and amount of stipends awarded will be determined by the number of applicants chosen.
