Shirley leads the evolution of key strategic technologies and system architectures to increase organizational efficiencies and data integrity.

Prior to joining School’s Out Washington, Shirley worked in the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion department at Kenyon College, where she mentored incoming first-generation college students. After graduating, she spent a year teaching English at a public high school in China before returning home to Seattle.

At School’s Out Washington, Shirley supports efforts to strengthen the expanded learning field through data systems and operational infrastructure. Outside of her work at SOWA, she also serves as the Director of Programs & Operations for EDGE Outdoors, a nonprofit dedicated to increasing access to snow sports for women of color.

She is passionate about building systems and communities that make opportunities more accessible, inclusive, and sustainable.
