Sheona supports the Refugee School Impact Program (RSIP) team through operational and programmatic coordination, grantee communications, and training logistics.
ssauna@schoolsoutwashington.orgSheona strongly believes in the power of community care and organizing and has spent much of their career championing community-led work and advocating for deeper engagement with the groups most impacted by policies and programs. They value building meaningful relationships and approaching partnerships through a lens of mutual learning.
Having immigrated to the US as a child, they know how challenging it is to navigate a new language and culture alongside a regular school curriculum, and they are eager to partner with RSIP’s grantees in supporting refugee students and families transition into the educational system.
