Salesforce Coordinator

Overview
For three decades, School’s Out Washington (SOWA) has served a critical role to advance equitable expanded learning ecosystems in Washington state. We work to ensure high-quality afterschool and summer programs are available so all of Washington’s youth—but especially low-income youth and youth of color—can have the opportunities they deserve to thrive. SOWA is dedicated to building responsive community systems to support quality afterschool, youth development and summer programs for Washington’s children and youth ages five through young adulthood.

Position Summary
The Salesforce Coordinator will conduct daily data entry, cleanup, and maintenance in School’s Out Washington’s Salesforce system. Working with the Technical Operations Manager, this team member will also support the coordination of the Salesforce database with additional digital platforms including our WordPress website, event registration system, and other 3rd-party applications. We are seeking a candidate interested in growing their Salesforce and database skills and will provide additional training and coaching to support this growth.

Reports to:  Technical Operations Manager

Location:  801 23rd Avenue South, Seattle, Washington or remote within Washington state

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain tools and strategies with support from the Technical Operations Manager to improve database ease of use for broader organization
  • Assist with organizational data hygiene, including daily data entry and cleanup
  • Troubleshoot database issues and escalate to supervisor and consultants as needed
  • Process gift entry and gift acknowledgement
  • Support the documentation and development of database procedures and protocols so that all staff can easily adopt practices;
  • Ensure high quality data by maintaining the formatting of fields, aligning data entry methods, enforcing naming conventions, and removing duplicate entries
  • Support the design and implementation of basic enhancements to database including adding fields, record types, and building processes
  • Assist in the generation of reports for staff members
  • Manage email subscriptions for contact records while working with the email platform integration
  • Provide day-to-day support for Salesforce users and coordinate with technical vendors when needed
  • Respond to support requests and escalate administrative needs of users with prompt, simple and complete resolutions that address technical and business challenges
  • Ensure data accuracy and security across the system with regular quality assurance checks
  • Provide training to staff and volunteers as needed
  • Assist in technical projects, as assigned by the Technical Operations Manager

  • Commitment to working toward racial equity through undoing institutional and structural racism and openness to engaging in challenging conversations that center racial equity
  • Commitment to addressing racism, sexism, heterosexism and other discriminatory practices
  • Participate in staff and other meetings as necessary
  • Serve as an ambassador for School’s Out Washington at all times, both formally and informally
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ year of experience in managing data in a relational contact database platform (Salesforce preferred)
  • Desire to learn about Salesforce, CRMs, or general best practices for databases
  • Can work effectively across teams to ensure effective, coordinated, and efficient processes
  • Ability to use data tools and build reports to assess organizational performance
  • High level of attention to accuracy and detail
  • Curiosity around improving systems and solving problems
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and handle and prioritize simultaneous requests
  • Ability to contribute to project strategy by communicating ideas and identifying risks and opportunities
  • Excellent communication skills, both in person and through email
  • Knowledge of—or interesting in learning about—equity and social justice principles and practices, and understanding of the effects of place-, race- and policy- & systems-based inequities on marginalized communities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and desire to collaborate with and learn from team members
  • Working knowledge of school-age youth development, center-based programs, and culturally relevant services is a plus

HOURS AND BENEFITS
40 hours

Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Classification: Non-Exempt

Starting Annual Salary: $52,000 to $60,000 DOE

Benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, 403-B plan, generous paid time off and flexible schedules

Individuals are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 two weeks after they have received the second dose in a two-dose series vaccine or two weeks after they have received a single-dose vaccine.
